About DialEast
The world’s most active watch collectors live in the Gulf. The world’s best watch journalism has never spoken their language. DialEast exists to correct that.
DialEast is an independent editorial magazine covering haute horlogerie in English and Arabic. We write for collectors who already own serious watches and for those building their first shortlist. Every article is built on verified data, not opinion.
No names on the masthead. No celebrity editors. The data speaks, or we do not publish.
What We Publish
DialEast covers four areas. Brand analysis with full collection breakdowns, secondary market pricing and GCC retail availability. Iconic references and the provenance, mechanics and auction history behind watches that shaped collecting. Buying guides for collectors navigating pre-owned platforms, authentication and import duties. Investment data drawn from live market indices, auction records and value retention analysis.
Every article answers a question a collector would type into a search bar. Every first sentence states a verifiable fact. If a claim cannot be sourced, it does not appear on this site.
Where Our Data Comes From
Auction results are sourced from published catalogues and hammer prices at Phillips, Christie’s and Sotheby’s. Secondary market pricing is drawn from WatchCharts and Chrono24 verified listings. Brand specifications come from official press portals and calibre databases. Swiss export statistics are sourced from the Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry annual reports.
We do not cite forums, social media posts or unverified reseller claims. When a data point changes, we update the article and note the revision date.
Our Editorial Process
Every article passes through the same sequence. Primary sources are identified and verified before writing begins. Specifications are cross-checked against official brand documentation. Market data is timestamped to the month it was retrieved. Internal links connect related content across the site without duplicating coverage.
We publish in both English and Arabic. The Arabic edition is not a machine translation. Every article is adapted for GCC readers with regional context, local dealer references and culturally relevant framing.
What We Will Never Do
Accept payment to feature a brand or write a favourable review. Publish a specification we have not verified against an official source. Present secondary market data without naming the platform and retrieval date. Recommend a purchase without disclosing any commercial relationship.
Where we use affiliate links, we say so. You can read the full terms in our affiliate disclosure. If you believe any article contains an error, contact us through our contact page and we will verify and correct it within five working days.
